Deep Cherry Red Cat Eye | Single-Colour Magnetic Nails in Harajuku

About This Treatment

This session took place at lull. in Harajuku. The nail artist in charge was Nami. The menu was Magnet, which included the removal and replacement of the previous soft gel. The client was visiting from France. No charms, stones, stickers, or extensions were added this time.

Design Points

A deep cherry red covers all ten nails, finished with cat eye gel so a band of light runs down the centre of each. The red leans blue rather than orange, which keeps it looking closer to a classic red than to a warm brick tone.

The nails are almond-shaped and left free of any art. With a colour this saturated, the magnetic band is what stops the finish from reading as flat — it gives the red depth without adding anything on top of it.

A Note from the Visit

The client works in IT and is based in Dublin. Her birthday happened to fall the day after her visit, so the appointment felt like a small pre-birthday treat. We talked a lot during the session and got along really well. She also kindly left a tip, which meant a lot.

Care and Style Tips

Magnetic gel tends to hold up well, and with normal wear you can usually expect the finish to last around three to four weeks. To keep the shine and depth of the magnet effect looking sharp, applying cuticle oil daily and wearing gloves for tasks like dishwashing both help. This style suits anyone who wants a single-color look with more depth and motion than a flat polish, without added parts. It’s an easy choice if you like a refined finish that still catches the light.

Comment from Nami

The conversation made this appointment stand out for me. Chatting about life and work in Dublin while the magnet gel came together was genuinely fun. Timing the visit right before her birthday made it feel a little special. She looked happy with the result, and that’s the best part of the job.
