About This Treatment
This session took place at lull. in Harajuku. The client, who is from the United Kingdom, chose our Full Design Light menu, which included removing the previous soft gel and applying a fresh set. The treatment was handled by our nailist Nami.
Design Points
A pistachio green tip is drawn on each nail with white polka dots running down over the sheer base. On three nails a sunflower is painted across the tip in yellow and ochre with a dark brown centre, sitting over the dots rather than replacing them.
The green is muted rather than bright, which keeps it from competing with the yellow of the flowers. Layering a motif over a pattern works here because the dots are small and evenly spaced, so they read as texture underneath.
A Note From the Visit
This was a returning client who has lived in Japan for three years and currently works as a teacher at an international kindergarten. She shared that she plans to move to France in December. It was nice to hear about the next chapter ahead of her, and she left looking pleased with the fresh set before her upcoming change.
Care and Style Tips
Soft gel is a popular choice because it’s gentle to remove and easy to switch out when you want a new look. A full design light set like this one usually holds up well for about three to four weeks, depending on how your nails grow and how you use your hands day to day.
To keep it looking its best, applying cuticle oil regularly helps the skin around the nail stay hydrated. Avoiding using your nails as tools also helps prevent lifting.
