Three Inspiration Images Blended into One Set | Custom Nail Art in Harajuku

About This Treatment

Design Points

The starting point was three separate inspiration images, combined into a single set rather than copied one by one.

To keep ten nails reading as one design, Mami pulled out the element each reference had in common and used it as the thread running through the whole hand. From there, each nail was given a slightly different balance — some carrying more of the art, others kept quieter so the busier nails have room to breathe. Placement was adjusted nail by nail so the design sits naturally on the curve of each plate.

The surface was finished thin and even, with the free edge sealed so the outline stays sharp from every angle.

About the Visit

She arrived with three saved images and asked whether they could be mixed instead of picking just one. We talked through which parts of each she liked most, then decided how much of each to bring in before starting.

When the set was finished and she saw both hands together, her reaction said it clearly — she was delighted with how the three ideas came together.

Care and Style Points

A fill-in means the existing base layer stays on the nail. Only the regrowth area near the cuticle is prepared and refilled, and the new design is built on top. Because the base is not removed each time, there is less repeated filing of the natural nail, which many guests prefer when they come back regularly.

A common cycle is around three to four weeks, depending on how fast your nails grow and how you use your hands. To help the set last:

  • Apply cuticle oil once or twice a day, especially after washing your hands.
  • Wear gloves for dishwashing and cleaning, as hot water and detergent loosen the edges over time.
  • Avoid using your nails as tools — opening cans and peeling stickers are the usual culprits behind lifting.

A full-set art menu like this suits anyone who wants design on all ten nails as one coordinated look, rather than a single accent nail. It also works well if you arrive with reference images and want them adapted to your own nail shape instead of reproduced exactly.

A Word from Mami

Mixing three references is mostly a question of subtraction. If you include everything from each image, the hand gets noisy fast, so I looked for what the three had in common and let that lead, then borrowed one clear feature from each of the others.

I also kept checking the set with both hands held side by side rather than nail by nail. That is where the balance actually shows up. Thank you for bringing your ideas to us — it was a fun set to build.
