About This Treatment
This session took place at lull. in Harajuku. Our nail artist Nami handled the appointment. The guest, visiting from Hungary, chose our Magnet menu, applied directly onto natural nails with no removal or replacement needed.
Design Points
A soft mauve with a pink undertone covers the set, finished with magnetic gel so a fine shimmer runs down the middle of each nail. The effect is subtle — closer to a sheen than to a defined metallic line.
The nails are kept short and the colour close to the natural nail bed. This is the kind of set that reads as tidy rather than decorative, which suits anyone who cannot wear obvious nail art day to day.
A Little About the Visit
The guest works in advertising for the magazine Forb, and the conversation flowed naturally throughout the appointment. We ended up chatting about wine, swapping a few recommendations along the way. She mentioned she loved how the design looked even on short nails, which was lovely to hear.
Care Tips and Who It Suits
Magnet gel tends to hold up well, usually keeping its finish for around three to four weeks with normal care. To protect the shimmer, applying cuticle oil daily and wearing gloves for dishwashing or cleaning helps a lot. Because the magnetic effect reads beautifully even on shorter nails, it’s a great option for anyone who works with their hands or simply prefers a low-maintenance length. It also suits people who want something eye-catching without extra charms or stones—the movement in the gel does the talking.
A Note from Nami
The wine conversation made this appointment fly by. It’s always fun when a guest is curious and open to talking, and this one really was. Seeing her happy with a short-nail Magnet look was a nice reminder that shorter lengths can be just as striking. I’d happily do this design again.
