Sage Green Ombre Tips | Minimal Gradient Nails in Tokyo

About This Treatment

This nail set was created, by our nailist Nami. The menu was an Accent Design applied to natural nails, with up to six accent nails and no removal needed. One nail extension was added to complete the shape. The client visited us while traveling in Japan from the Netherlands.

Design Points

A pale sage green is faded up from the tip of each nail into a sheer pink base, with no defined line where the two meet. A fine pearl shimmer runs through the green, which lifts it slightly under light.

There is no art on any nail. The whole set depends on the evenness of the fade — on almond-shaped nails, the gradient follows the curve of the tip rather than cutting straight across it.

A Note From the Visit

Our client was on her first solo trip to Tokyo. During the appointment we talked about places to eat, and we shared a few restaurant recommendations for her to try around the city. She looked genuinely happy as we talked through her plans.

Care and Style Tips

Accent designs on natural nails are a good option if you want something eye-catching without a full cover on every nail. Because the base stays close to the natural nail, the look tends to feel light and easy to wear day to day. When one extension is added, take a little extra care around that nail, avoiding sudden knocks or using it as a tool. To keep the finish looking fresh, apply cuticle oil regularly and keep your hands moisturized. This style suits anyone who likes a design that draws focus to a few nails while keeping the overall effect simple.

Comment From Your Nailist

Talking about Tokyo restaurants while working on her nails made this a fun appointment for me. Nami. It’s always nice when a set comes together alongside a bit of travel planning. Adjusting the single extension so it sat naturally with the rest of the natural nails was the part I paid the most attention to on this design.
