About This Treatment
This session took place at lull. in Harajuku. The menu was a Full Design Custom, applied directly to the natural nails with no prior gel to remove. Our nailist Nami handled the design from start to finish. The client was visiting from Costa Rica.
Design Points
A soft lavender is marbled into a sheer base, with white swirled through it so no nail carries a solid block of colour. Pearls in several sizes are set across the nails, along with pieces of iridescent shell that catch blue and green.
One nail carries a sculpted purple flower with a pearl at its centre. Because the base colour is pale, the raised pieces read clearly on short nails without needing extra length to sit on.

A Note From the Visit
The client is originally from Costa Rica and currently lives in Japan with her partner. She is doing research at the University of Tokyo. It was a pleasure to fit a nail appointment into her time here, and she looked delighted with how the design came together.
Care and Style Tips
A Full Design Custom on natural nails is a good option if you prefer a lightweight feel and want to skip removal of existing gel. As a general guide, gel work on natural nails tends to hold well for around three to four weeks, though this varies with your nail growth and daily habits. To help the finish last, avoid using your nails as tools and apply cuticle oil regularly to keep the surrounding skin conditioned. This style suits anyone who likes a clean, custom look without added parts, and it works whether you want something subtle or a bit more expressive.
Comment From the Nailist (Nami)
Designing on bare nails is always a nice challenge because there’s nowhere to hide, so I focused on a smooth, even application throughout. Meeting someone spending part of their time in Tokyo on research made this a memorable session for me, and I hope the finished nails add a little something to her days here.
