About This Treatment
This session was a full custom design built on bare nails, with extensions added to all ten fingers.
Design Points
Several traditional motifs share this set. Koi swim across two nails in orange and cream, plum branches are painted in fine black and red line work on others, and a red cord is looped into a decorative knot on three of them.
The base moves between a milky white and a soft sage, with gold flakes pressed in near the cuticle. Using red only for the cord and the blossoms keeps it as the accent colour throughout, which holds several different motifs together as one set.
The Visit
This client had been following our Instagram for quite a while before making the trip, and came in looking forward to the appointment. It’s always a good feeling when someone who has watched our work online finally sits down at the table. She was visibly happy with how the set came together.
Care & Style Notes
A full custom set on extensions usually holds well for around three to four weeks, depending on how your nails grow and how you use your hands day to day. A few habits help the set last: apply a little cuticle oil daily to keep the nail and skin flexible, avoid using your nails as tools, and wear gloves for dishwashing or cleaning. When you’re ready to change the look, book a proper removal rather than picking at the extensions, which protects the natural nail underneath. This kind of design suits anyone who wants added length and a fully personalized look — a good option for a special trip or event.
A Note from the Nail Artist
Meeting someone who has followed the work from afar and traveled in to book is one of the more memorable parts of this job. For this set, the focus was getting the ten extensions consistent in shape and length first, so the custom design would read cleanly across the whole hand. Seeing her reaction at the end made the session a pleasure. — Nami
