About This Treatment
We welcomed a guest visiting from the United States. She chose our Full Design Custom menu, applied directly to natural nails with no removal or extensions. Her nails were designed by our nailist Mami.
Design Points
The set moves through several blues — a dusty denim, a deep navy, and a milky white base. Blueberries are painted on two nails with fine green stems and leaves, and small raised berries are set into the surface so they sit above it.
Two nails carry a sculpted bow in pale blue, one paired with a glitter base and a pearl. Repeating the same blue family across ten nails is what holds together designs that are otherwise quite different from each other.
The Story Behind the Visit
This blueberry design carried a personal meaning. Our guest was about to open her own smoothie shop, and blueberry is one of the flavors on her menu — so she wanted to wear that flavor on her nails during her trip. She also shared that this visit included a stop in Kyoto, and that she’s already looking forward to traveling around Asia again next autumn, with Japan, Korea, and the Philippines on the list. She looked delighted with the finished set.
Care and Style Notes
A full hand-painted design like this sits directly on the natural nail, so a few simple habits help it last. Wearing gloves during dishwashing and cleaning reduces chipping, and applying cuticle oil daily keeps the nail surface and skin in good condition. With everyday care, hand-painted gel designs generally hold up well for around three weeks. Because there are no extensions, this option suits people who prefer the length and feel of their own nails, or who want a lightweight design that’s easy to live with during travel.
A Note from Mami
Painting fruit motifs is always a nice challenge — getting the berries to look round and soft rather than flat takes a bit of layering. Knowing the blueberries connected to her own smoothie shop made the design feel more personal to work on. I hope the nails bring back good memories of this trip whenever she looks at them.
