About This Treatment
This treatment took place at lull. in Harajuku. The nail artist in charge was Nami. The menu was a One Color set, which included removing the previous soft gel and applying a fresh single-color finish. No charms, stones, stickers, or extensions were added this time. Our guest was visiting from Denmark.
Design Points
A single milky pink is applied thin enough that the natural nail still reads through it. There is no art, no glitter and no defined tip — the colour simply evens out the surface and adds a soft shine.
The nails are kept short and rounded, close to their natural shape. This kind of set is chosen when the aim is tidy hands rather than a design, and it suits work environments where visible nail art is not practical.
A Note on the Visit
Our guest was on her third floor visit and works in the legal field in Otemachi. She looked genuinely happy with how the nails turned out.
Care and Style Tips
A single-color soft gel set is one of the easiest styles to live with day to day. Because there are no raised charms or stones, it snags less on clothing and gloves, which makes it a practical choice for office work and travel alike.
Soft gel typically holds well for around three to four weeks, depending on how fast your nails grow and how much you use your hands. To keep it looking fresh, dab a little cuticle oil around the nail base daily, and try to avoid using your nails as tools. When it’s time for a change, a proper removal—rather than peeling—helps protect the natural nail underneath.
This style works well for anyone who wants a low-maintenance look that stays neat, whether for work or a trip.
Comment from the Nail Artist (Nami)
A one color set gives you almost no room to hide, so I take my time on the removal and the base shaping first. Getting the previous gel off cleanly makes a big difference in how smooth the final coat sits. For a single color, that even surface is really what you notice most. It was nice to see the finish land the way she’d hoped.
