About This Treatment
This set was created at lull., our nail salon in Harajuku. The client, visiting from the United States, chose our Magnet menu. The service was done on bare nails with no removal needed. Ten extensions were applied to complete the look. Her nails were handled by our nailist, Nami.
Design Points
Every nail in this set carries a different colour. Blue, red, amber, sage green and a dusty rose run across the ten extensions, each finished with magnetic gel so a bright line is pulled through the centre of the nail.
Magnetic gel holds fine metallic particles that a magnet gathers while the gel is still soft. The line shifts as the hand moves, so the effect changes with the light. Using a different colour on each finger means that shift reads differently ten times over, and the tips are left sheer so the colour fades out towards the edge.
A Note From the Visit
The client came in with a friend, the two of them visiting Japan together. During the appointment, she shared that she works as a foot doctor back home. She looked genuinely pleased with how her nails turned out.
Care and Style Tips
Magnet gel tends to hold up well, with color and shine typically lasting around three to four weeks depending on daily wear and nail growth. To keep the metallic line looking sharp, avoid heavy scrubbing and use gloves for tasks like washing dishes. A little cuticle oil each day helps the nails and skin stay in good condition.
This style suits anyone who wants something eye-catching without added charms or stones. The movement in the finish does the work on its own, so it fits both quieter, everyday looks and something a bit more dressed up.

Magnet gel always has a surprise moment when the particles pull into place, and getting that line to sit evenly across ten extensions was the part I focused on most.
