About This Treatment
This set was created by our nail artist Nami at lull. in Harajuku. The menu was a magnetic gel design, applied after removing and replacing the previous soft gel. The client visited us from Hungary, returning for her second appointment.
Design Points
Magnetic gel is built around a fine metallic pigment that shifts under a magnet. As the polish sets, a magnet is held close to the surface, pulling the particles into a line or curve that catches the light. The result is a band of depth that seems to move as your hand turns. Depending on the angle, the same nail reads darker in one spot and brighter in another, giving a single color real dimension without any added layers.
A Note on Her Visit
She came back to us for a second time after her first appointment, again traveling from Hungary. She has a clear eye for style, and our conversation turned to wine, a subject she knew a great deal about. That kind of easy back-and-forth made the appointment feel relaxed, and she left looking genuinely pleased with the finished set.
Care and Style Notes
Magnetic gel tends to wear as well as a standard gel set, usually holding its finish for around three to four weeks depending on nail growth and daily habits. Because the effect lives in how light hits the surface, a glossy top coat keeps the shift looking sharp, so it helps to avoid filing or buffing the top layer at home. A little cuticle oil each day keeps the surrounding skin healthy and the color reading clean. This style suits anyone who likes a look that stays understated at a glance but reveals more movement up close, and it works nicely on shorter nails where the magnetic line stays crisp.
A Word from Nami
The fun of magnetic gel is that no two nails ever catch the light the same way, and placing the magnet is a small decision that changes the whole feel. For a returning guest, I wanted the set to hold up through more travel while still having something to notice on a second look. Talking wine while I worked was a nice bonus.
