About This Treatment
This session took place at lull. in Harajuku. Our nail artist Nami handled the appointment. The guest, visiting from the United States, chose our Accent Design menu (up to 6 nails), applied directly onto natural nails with no removal or replacement needed.
Design Points
The set moves between two strong blues and a soft white, arranged so the darker nails sit next to the painted ones rather than clustering together. A scallop shell is sculpted in relief on one nail, a starfish sits on a band of gold glitter on another, and white coral is drawn in fine dotted line work.
The blue nails are marbled with white to suggest moving water, and small gold studs are placed at the base of two nails. Alternating solid colour with detailed art keeps the sea theme readable at a glance instead of crowding every nail with a motif.
A Note From the Visit
The guest was traveling in Japan on her honeymoon and stopped by during her trip. She works as a teacher back home. She seemed genuinely pleased with the finished nails, and kindly left a tip before heading out. Moments like these, sharing a small part of someone’s travel memories, make the day.
Care and Style Tips
Accent Design is a good fit if you want something expressive without a full statement across all ten nails. Since this style often uses just a few detailed nails, it tends to read as polished and versatile, working for both everyday wear and special occasions like a honeymoon trip.
To help the finish last, apply cuticle oil daily and wear gloves for tasks like dishwashing. When applied on natural nails, gentle handling in the first day helps the design settle. As a general guide, this kind of work holds well for a couple of weeks with basic care, depending on nail growth and lifestyle.
Comment From Your Nail Artist
Working on an accent design means deciding where the detail belongs and letting the rest of the hand stay simple. With a limited number of nails to feature, placement matters, and I enjoyed building a look that felt balanced against the natural base. It was a pleasure to be part of this guest’s trip.
